Folkart Hills situates itself in Cesme, one of Turkey’s renowned touristic regions. Facing the east side of the Cesme, harbor and an old stone quarry, near the city center and yacht maria, the project takes in sea views from the north and northwest direction. The site rises on a slope from the seaside up to 42 meters, the building situates itself at 25 meters.

建筑的朝向在建立项目与海岸线的关系中起着关键作用，尽管场地向东倾斜，朝向工业港口区，但该建筑有目的地朝向北部和西北部，以欣赏Cesme海岸线的广阔景色。

The building orientation plays a key role in establishing the project’s relationship with the coastline. Even though the site slopes down in the east direction towards the industrial port area, the building purposefully orients itself towards the north and northwest to take in the expansive views of Cesme coastline.

Taking cues from surrounding hills, the project takes the form of a three-hilled structure forming its own topography that integrates its silhouette into the slope from all directions. The mass and scale of the building achieves harmony with the residential three-storey buildings on the roadside of the site. The elliptical geometry of the hilly masses softens their form and breaks down the volumes by making them sit at different levels. These hilly masses along the slope provides the name of the project: Folkart Hills.

The project includes a variety of hotel and residential units, all of which have access to unobstructed sea views. The project consists of 40 rooms, 18 suites and 12 special units.

The dynamic form of the project creates sophisticated spatial experiences with diverse views and shifting perspectives, while also integrating passive climatic strategies. Exterior paths connect with inner courtyards, which climatize the building by taking in the cooling northern winds in the summer. The undulating form creates moments of privacy. The terracing gardens, which create ample shade, visually meet the water – reminiscent of looking out from a boat deck. The gardens directly connect to the restaurant, sports areas, and the thermal health center with an indoor pool, which takes in the thermal waters of the region. The expansive green roof and the inner courtyards collect rainwater for landscape irrigation; the cooling system channels sea water.

The elliptical surfaces that define the project’s architectural language consist of parabolic-hyperbolic surfaces. These surfaces were produced by the computer-aided F2F (File to factory) system. This system was used in the application of the steel construction and top paneling.
