BERYL GROVE is adjacent to Chongqing Central Park, enjoying the best green resources. The landscape by GVL is designed with the idea of “Pages of Time”. The element of “page” appears everywhere in the design, helping to shape a consistent style and create a unique and memorable space.
Pages are scattered here and there in the “Garden of Time”, each telling a story about time.
Between the new and vibrant modern city and the natural and quiet park, the designers combine “time” with “garden”, creating a space that connects the present with the past and the future. Being protagonists of the story, users of the space will have their different space experiences here.
Walls at the entrance are interleaved to expand the space and lead visitors into a mysterious garden. The polycarbonate panels used in landscape are light and translucent, contributing to a hazy and peaceful experience.
Opening the door of time and space is just like opening a dust-covered book, you will start a wonderful journey in the Garden of Time.
The Garden will embrace you with a tranquil space which is extended by lines. Various experiences are created in the mysterious and ceremonial space by skillful transitions and organization. Serving as the connection between the internal and external spaces, the exquisite landscape wall brings some artistic atmosphere to the space.
The sculptures of pages highlight the landscape theme, which float down onto the ground to form a mysterious path leading to the garden. The pages activate the space and encourage people to think and walk into another world.
The designers have specially created a long and narrow space, which is full of surprises and cliffhangers, attracting people to explore more. Bathed in the mysterious atmosphere, blocks collide with curves, symbolizing the relationship between thought and reality.
The visual design is meant to be suggestive of realities, encouraging people to think and imagine. It is also an attempt to transform the physical space into a spiritual world. There are clues from the entrance to the corridor and then ending up there, creating a space which is big enough to get you lost but also small enough for you to reflect on yourself.
In his poem “Return to Nature”, Tao Yuanming said that, “When I escape from bitter strife with men, I live a free and easy life again.” People are always yearning for returning to nature, since nature is where life and art come. It is also the extension of cities. Therefore, the designers have tried to build a retreat in nature, allowing people to escape the busy city life for a while and find their inner peace.
Light is essential for a space. Many koelreuteria paniculatas grow from the terrace and cast shadows on the ground, creating a poetic and mysterious space. Organized in an open style, the space is comfortable for visitors to walk around. Plants cast shades on the wall where dappled sunlight dances elegantly and gracefully. Tangible and intangible light changes in the space, leaving tracks everywhere.
Water features along the path form a stream running in the woods, where seats are scattered here and there for people to sit on and experience the space comfortably.
The design maximizes the experience of nature. Simple design language, natural environment and open recreation area allow people to settle down and experience the harmony between man, space and nature.
Nature is the cradle of art. Sit in the swinging shade of a tree, listen to the gurgling water and read pages of a book, you will naturally recall some past moments and experience the power and warmth brought by the garden.
The element of arc in the interior design is extended outdoors, reaching a visual balance between the interior space and the landscape. The artistic sculpture is reflected on the mirror water, at the bottom of which the design element of arc continues, blending everything into a harmonious whole. In such a tranquil space, you can immerse yourself in it thoroughly with your mind wandering anywhere.
Back Yard: Enjoy the Garden of Time
In all kinds of beautiful and wild ways,
natural materials that are seemingly disorderly
are "blooming" elegantly through the hands of the designers.
From the initial attempt to conquer the seemingly disorderly nature to modern people's yearning for the jungle, the rules for garden design have also changed, making garden return to nature.
The romantic and seemingly disorderly garden has its own logic and order. Only based on the the designer's sense of space as well as models and drawings can a perfect space be created.
Therefore, the back yard is designed with a lot of grass and flowers to create a colorful and romantic atmosphere and increase the levels and rhythm of the space. Geometrical lines are employed to divide the space for multiple functions.
People living here can stroll comfortably in the colorful garden. Sitting on the terrace with a cup of tea, one can recall the past, experience the present and look forward to the future. Landscape changes with seasons and each move, providing pleasant views.
